Rae's not-so-secret gingerbread kiss cookies!

Rest assured if you invite me to your party, I will show up with my famous (self proclaimed) gingerbread kiss cookies and maybe a bottle of wine, or champagne if I'm feeling fancy! I've decided to let the gingerbread out of the bag and share with you my not-so-secret recipe!

Step One: Turn on some festive holiday music and an apron. The cookies always turn out way better when it's playing and you'll look cute in an apron, trust me.

Step Two: Follow the recipe

Ingredients:

3 cups of all purpose flour

1 tsp. ginger

1 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 tsp. nutmeg

1 tsp. baking soda

1/4 tsp. salt

3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup molasses

1 egg

1 tsp. vanilla

1/4 cup granulated sugar

30ish Hershey's kisses, unwrapped

Directions:

In a large bowl combine flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, salt and set aside. In a second large bowl add butter and brown sugar. Mix in molasses, egg and vanilla until nearly combined. Taking the dry ingredients from the first bowl, mix into second bowl with an electric beater.

Cover and chill in the bowl for 2-4 hours. Remove dough 20 minutes prior to baking (I never actually do this).

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prep your baking sheet with parchment paper.

Shape dough into 1" balls, roll in sugar and space 2" apart.

Bake for 8-10 minutes. Immediately press an unwrapped Hersheys kiss into each cookie. After cookies cool, plate them and head to your party!
